Shri Malaprabha Sahakari Sakkare Kharkhane Niyamit, M K Hubli is one of the pioneers in the co-operative sugar industries in the state of Karnataka, situated in between the cities of Belgaum and Dharwad. The idea of establishing a sugar factory in the co-operative sector was first originated in the mind of Late Shri Mallappa Hosmani of Khanapur, the Chief Promoter of this factory.

The factory initially started crushing at the rate of 1250 TCD, which had been a big capacity then. But, as the time passed away the supply of sugarcane increased. Hence to meet the required demand, subsequently expansions were undertaken by the factory and it crawled up to 3500TCD per day.

NATURE OF THE BUSINESS CARRIED

Shri Malaprabha S S K N is involved in the activity of manufacturing white crystal sugar, which is the main product. The process of production involve conversion of

• Raw sugarcane to White crystal sugar
• Raw sugar into refined sugar
• Molasses, Bagasses are it’s by products.

• Expansion to the 6000 TCD with co-generation.
• Computerization.
• To expand its operation globally.
• To increase the Ethanol production.
• Aiming to work even at off seasons by acquiring more raw materials.
